Paltan Bazar, Dibrugarh
Set in a quite lane next to Archana Hospital in Paltan Bazar, Dibrugarh, Bhaskar Homestay opened up its doors to guests in the Year 2017.
It was started by Pallav Gogoi – an entrepreneur from Dibrugarh. He realized the need for a Homestay in Dibrugarh when after quitting his job in Delhi; he moved back to Assam and was exploring North East India. The only options available then were Hotels which just provided a basic room and other basic needs without giving guests an option to experience Assamese Culture first hand.
The Homestay, the 1st of its kind, was started with a mission to provided guests a glimpse into the lives of an Assamese Family; the very experience to stay with one. The warm hospitality, delicious cuisines and a rich cultural heritage were to be provided to guests staying at the Homestay.
The vision was to promote Assamese culture to the tourists coming into Upper Assam so that more guests would turn up here which would eventually promote the tourism sector in Dibrugarh.
The Team that catered to the guests in the Homestay was the very family itself.
His Father, a renowned pathologist Dr B.C.Gogoi was in charge of the accounts, his mother, Ms Abha Gogoi, a retired teacher along with the in house cook/maid helped with the food while Pallav would look after every other aspect. Every room was set up in a way which represented how an Assamese house should be.
Starting with a Single room in the Year 2017, Bhaskar Homestay Currently has 11 Rooms in 2 adjacent buildings. They also have an Economy range guest house for hospital attendants which has 12 rooms.
